Short answer, for anyone who just typed "krex meaning" into a search bar: Krex is three fragments fused into one word.
- KR — the founder's initials.
- AI — the intelligence behind everything the product does. Look closely at the logo and you'll notice the letters AI tucked inside the K itself.
- EX — experience. The whole reason the tool exists is a better experience of making things — video, ads, and writing, in one place.
KR · AI · EX. Written out in full it would be KRAIEX, which is a mouthful nobody wants to type twice. So it collapsed into something short, sharp, and easy to say out loud: Krex.
Why an invented word?
Because a name has one job before it has any other: it has to be findable and ownable. Our old name — "AI Box" — was neither. It collided with a funded AI company, with Box.com's "Box AI," and with a whole aisle of "AI box" TV dongles. Search your own brand and you'd find everyone except you. (We wrote about measuring things honestly — this was us measuring our own name and not liking the result.)
A made-up word fixes that. Nobody else in AI video and writing is "Krex," so the name is ours — and so is the search result you're reading right now.
What Krex actually is
